PIANO SUBLIMATION - Object / Sound / Graphics

is a collaboration-project between the austrian composer and musician JUUN and the visual artist Michael Wegerer. Piano Sublimation combines sound, graphics and sculpture in multidisciplinary installations.
An "Ehrbar- Grand Piano” built around 1860, arises as common starting object, which cut of the piano represents the initial point of departure for an ongoing exchange and progressive translations in contemporary graphics, objects and sound.
This reciprocal dialogue of mutual artistic interventions is part of the work and leads the outcomes as representations of auditory and visual elements.
The musical and visual compositions are directly related to the measurements of the original object (grand-piano) and the methods of artistic transposition.

PIANO SUBLIMATION is supported by HDI, SKE, Land NOE, Gallery Menotti, Bernhard Balas (piano maker), Overtones & Intervall and Künstlerhaus Vienna.

Das gemeinsame Ausgangsobjekt stellt ein „Ehrbar"- Konzert-Flügel dar, gebaut um etwa 1860, der zerteilt und in prozesshaften
Schritten in zeitgenössische Grafiken, Objekt und Sound verarbeitet wird. Ein reziproker Dialog wechselseitiger künstlerischer
Interventionen ist zentraler Bestandteil der Arbeit und führt in eine installative Präsentation auditiver und visueller Elemente. Im
Sinn einer druckgrafischen Reproduktion von Sound und Objekt breitet sich der Prozess in den Raum aus. Die musikalisch-visuelle
Komposition steht in direktem Zusammenhang zum Ausgangsobjekt und den Methoden der Verarbeitung.

Material und Equipment:
Ehrbar Konzerflügel zerschnitten; 4-Kanal-PA + Mischpult; 2 CD-Player; Zuspiel-CDs; Life Performance 35 min (Konzert);
Objekt-Siebdrucke; Prozesswand (A4 Digitaldrucke und Original Skizzen)

PIANO SUBLIMATION ist ein Kooperationsprojekt zwischen der Komponistin und Musikerin JUUN und Michael Wegerer, welches in drei Präsentationen
(PS#1, PS#2, PS#3) realisiert wird. Piano Sublimation#1 wurde im Rahmen der In.print.out Grafik-Triennale im Künstlerhaus Wien präsentiert.
